Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering above a well-attended southern California coastline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Recordings shared on social media show the aircraft beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending in the direction of the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
First Aid Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.
Three people on the road were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
The department said the helicopter was connected to an regular “Cars N Copters” charity gathering scheduled for the following day.
